Blanking Associates was founded in 1990 by husband & wife, and we continue to have family at the heart of the company, which helps us to ensure we provide a personal, yet fast, thorough, and efficient service to all of our clients.
We are a team of highly experienced qualified surveyors, specialising in RICS Level 2 Home Surveys (HomeBuyer Reports) and RICS Level 3 Home Surveys (Building Surveys), as well as valuations for a range of purposes such as Mortgage Valuations, Equity Releases (including Help to Buy) and Probate, etc.

Jess gained a merit in her postgraduate degree in Surveying in 2015, and she achieved full membership to the RICS in Autumn 2016, as well as receiving a Registered Valuer status.
She has almost 10 years experience of undertaking residential surveys and valuations throughout Essex and the surrounding areas.
Frank established the business in 1990 and has over 50 years of experience in the surveying profession.
Having lived and practiced in Essex for most of his working life, he has considerable knowledge of the area and the properties therein.
Frank has been a qualified surveyor since 1971 and was elected a Fellow of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) in 2000.
He has extensive knowledge of the profession and will be able to assist you with any queries or problems you may have.
Matt has been in the industry for many years and he has achieved BSc(Hons) in Building Surveying.
He has a strong background in subsidence claim surveying, as well as both general residential and commercial building surveying.
He is an associate member of the RICS, as well as being a member of the CIOB (Chartered Institute of Building).
Matt has years of experience throughout Essex and Suffolk.
Russ has recently joined the team after working for one of the UK’s largest residential freeholders and has extensive knowledge in the industry. He has a background in dealing with valuations, complex leasehold queries, land/lease disputes.
Russ is also working towards his AssocRICS membership.
Phil joined Blanking Associates in November 2016 and is responsible for overseeing all the administrative functions in the office as Office Manager.
He brings over 30 years’ experience as an administrative professional and is responsible for the day-to-day running of the business.
Phil is the main point of contact for clients and suppliers, ensuring all aspects of the survey are handled in a prompt and efficient manner from quotation to booking, as well as post-survey support.
Lindsay joined Blanking Associates in June 2021 and is part of the administrative team, ensuring that the business runs efficiently to enable the team to deliver an exceptional service to all of our clients.
She is also responsible for the day-to-day running of the business, and with a background in the conveyancing world is a great help in providing extra knowledge to clients.
Lindsay has a passion for delivering a first-class service and thrives on continuously improving our operations and staff development.
Niki joined Blanking Associates in August 2018 and is part of the administrative team, ensuring that the business runs efficiently to enable the team to deliver an exceptional service to all of our clients.
Delivering outstanding customer service has always been an essential part of a day’s work for Niki. She is responsible for managing all aspects of coordinating office activities and client enquiries.
Her varied background in multiple organisations provides a perfect foundation for providing vital support to the team so they can focus on working with their clients.
Kim joined Blanking Associates in April 2014, having previously worked for Blanking Associates in the early days.
She is part of the administrative team and helps to produce every survey report for the team, ensuring that we continuously deliver a gold standard of service to all our clients.
